waterRIDE has a new framework wrFV (or Finite Volume). This is a discrete triangular element framework, and compliments the continuous TIN surface of the existing wrb format.
The new framework is akin to a gridded surface, except that triangles are used rather than squares.
A single value is stored in each triangle, meaning that the resulting surface will be stepped, rather than smooth.

Whilst the surface is clearly "less smooth", it provides an exact representation of the "as modelled" results, which may be important in some cases.
However, it is worth noting that the true flood extent will be more accurately defined using the traditional, continuous TIN approach afforded by *.wrb files.
Primarily developed to better capture the "as modelled" outputs from InfoWorks results, we are planning to expand the framework to rectangular elements to more efficiently store TUFLOW QuadTree results, as well as include support for MIKE Flexi-Mesh results (*.dfsu results) in coming releases.
Dynamic Google StreetView imagery with superimposed flood levels has found its way into waterRIDE's very popular automated flood certificates framework.
Providing a clear means of showing representative flood level information against any property for which StreetView exists, it provides an inexpensive means of including "house photos" in your flood certificates.
StreetView capability was initially introduced with waterRIDE version 10.0.98, but was added to the automated flood certificates engine with the latest release (11.0.6).
